CLUB SERVICES

As we are aware, Club Services and fellowship form the backbone of the Rotary movement. RC Yelahanka strives to foster bonding among its members through a wide variety of interesting and exciting, not to mention informative, activities and events, all threaded together through its weekly meetings.

Our club meets every Friday at 7:00 pm at Hotel Sharavathi, Yelahanka New Town. The meeting's activities are based on the following simple guidelines, enshrined in our Manual of Procedures (MoP):

Every week we invite a Guest Speaker who is an expert in their own domain, to deliver a talk on a subject that is informative, educative, entertaining as well as insightful to the members. As per the Speaker's requirements, LCD projector and laptop etc are arranged for by the members through their individual effort. These meetings are publicized in the local press so that members of the public can also attend and benefit. Our efforts have led to greater awareness about Rotary in the community, and members of the public look forward to attending the talks of their interest.

Every fifth Friday is observed as "Family of Rotary" day. This week is especially devoted to family get-togethers, music, dance, drama and entertainment. Sometimes, we call professional entertainers for the meet, and sometimes our own Anns and Annets conduct these events.

Every first Friday of a quarter is reserved for close-door Business Meeting-cum-club assembly. This meeting is exclusive for Rotarian members only.

As part of our drive to boost attendance of members, we recently started an occasional Gift program, whereby one Rotarian / Ann / Annet gets a surprise gift at the hands of the Chief Guest of the day. The name of the person is drawn from a draw of lots by the CG. Two recent winners (in our 7th September meeting) were Ann Ramya Venkatesh and Rtn Suresh G V. They both received two tickets each to a popular Dance program in the city!
